Private creekside camping on a 70-acre Northern Rivers, NSW property – Gurragawee.
We have one criterion when camping, and that’s privacy! Why set up camp next to hundreds of other campers when you can have it all to yourself and usually for a fraction of a ‘Caravan Park’ cost!
Kate, the owner, lives on the property, but her house was at least 600m away from our campsite. She provides access to 3 various camping spots. And your access to each one is dependent on whether you have a 4WD or an SUV car.
All 3 sites are what you would call ‘raw’ camping spots. No toilets, no power and a refreshing freshwater creek for a shower.
We camped with another family and pitched two 7-meter tents on ‘Campsite 2’ as it was the only site accessible in a 2WD SUV. Right behind us were a large grassed area and an adorable country shed. The shed serves as a function and photoshoot venue (obviously, the shed and the campsite never get booked at the same time).
This ‘Campsite’ is directly along the Maguire Creek, and the grassed area behind it is ideal for a game of footy!
Also on either side of this campsite, are two deeper waterholes.
