Forest Park picnic area at Numinbah
Perfect little spot for a family day escape. This place has everything: wood barbecues, picnic tables, a shelter shed, and toilets. But best of all is the fresh water creek and rock pools. Shallow and deep pools with lots of rock climbing fun and a rope swing for the game. And who’s game? Leo and Chloee! They literally spent hours climbing, swing and jumping.
This area has unreliable mobile phone reception.
Located on the right side on Murwillumbah-Nerang Road. Look for the Forest Picnic Area sign.
The path down to the creek. Only a 2-minute track.
A few more kilometers down the road is Bachow Park. Bigger grounds. Plenty of room for the kids to run around, a great playground and a swimming hole on the left and a few rock pools on the right near the bridge.
The scenic Numinbah Valley holds many secrets. The best one of all is about the Dinosaurs! Yes, take the kids to this little stop. Pull the car over opposite the Natural Arch Restaurant on Murwillumbah-Nerang Road and see what the kids say when you point out these real size creatures.
The restaurant is not always open.
