This is a list of my favourite Gold Coast Playgrounds. I have included photos, equipment, location and facilities within the area. Let the kids EXPLORE their IMAGINATION!
PIRATE PARK AT PALM BEACH
Pirate Park at Palm Beach is loads of fun for kids of all ages. The area has plenty of shade and a great little café “Dune Cafe.” The park has been designed to stimulate kids’ minds and imaginations; lots of themed climbing equipment, slides, and hidden treasures. Equipped with plenty of covered picnic space, sheltered tables, toilets and easy beach access. Great place for parties.
This playground offers a huge range of interactive equipment to suit kids of all ages. The kids will love the adventure playground, slides and rockers, a pedal power monorail, funny faces interactive boards and heaps more. BBQ facilities and toilets are available at the site.
The Point Playground is next to Nook Cafe. Which is only a small coffee hole in the wall. The playground has a slippery dip, swings, and a spinning cup, but is not fenced and next to the road. Located on Burleigh Head National Park next to the beautiful Burleigh Beach. A few tables, BBQ, and toilets are all conveniently located around the park.
Located next to Burleigh Surf Club. This playground isn’t fenced but it located along the Burleigh Beach and away from the road. It has swings, a slide, and some climbing equipment. Tables and toilets are available within close vicinity.
This playground has a great range of equipment that will keep all ages entertained. The circle of swings is popular, older kids love the climbing equipment and the bridge, whereas the little boys are fascinated with the sand buggy. You can grab a coffee or snack from McDonald’s which is only a few meters down Fifth Avenue. Toilets are located a few meters down south on the Esplanade.
Located North of the North Burleigh Surf Club, and Nook. The kids love this nautical inspired playground with lots of climbing equipment, slides, and swings. This playground offers toilets but isn’t fenced and is located along the road. You can utilize the BBQs and shaded tables and chairs or grab a bite to eat at North Burleigh Surf Club. The Club has a great kiddies menu and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Alternatively, you can grab a snack or coffee at the Nook. The playground is a perfect place for kids parties.
This playground offers a huge range of equipment for all ages and disabled. There are 2 slides that run down the side of a synthetic hill. There are flying foxes, swings, a giant submarine, climbing nets, and a swaying boat. The playground is fenced and has toilets.
Plenty of tables and BBQs. A large grass area is also all located outside of the playground. It offers an Oceanway, which is a network of wide paths along the Gold Coast beachfront designed for walking, and cycling. To the left of the playground, on the beach-side is Kurrawa Surf Club, another convenient and kid-friendly place to grab a bite to eat. Broadbeach coffee shops and restaurants are located within walking distance and are also an easy alternative.
Kurrawa Beach is a patrolled beach and is only a few meters north of the playground, so it’s easy enough to cool off after what will be a long play at this fantastic playground.
Royal Pines Golf Club Playground is equipped with swings, slides, a see-saw, climbing frame and a fun giant jumping pillow. Fully fenced so it’s one of the safest locations for a playground. Trattoria Amici Restaurant is conveniently located next door. The Resort also offers Birthday Party Packages.
The main picnic and playground area at Hinze Dam is below the dam wall level, so, unfortunately, you don’t get to sit and look over the waters of the dam. Nether the less the playground offers a great net swing, slide, balance beans, and climbing equipment. Toilets are located next to the playground.
View Cafe is located up higher near the Dam wall. Enjoy one of their home-made meals overlooking the stunning scenery and serenity of the Nerang River where the captivating views stretch from the Numinbah Valley to the Pindari Hills. Alternatively, bring your own food and enjoy a BBQ or picnic by the water or along the playground.
On the opposite side of the playground under the View Cafe are plenty of concrete paths for the little ones to ride their bikes and scooters. Also home to Hinze Dam is a great little mountain bike track.
THE ROCKPOOL AND WASHINGTON WATERS PLAYGROUND AT BROADBEACH
The Rockpools are a relatively new exciting addition to Broadwater. The area is designed with cool water fountains and vibrant marine-themed equipment. It includes a creek bed and several tidal rock pools for children to splash, dam and explore.
Next to the water park is Cafe Rockpool and toilets. The Cafe is situated overlooking the beautiful Broadwater and Main Lawn. The venue can also be booked for private functions after hours.
